Free Fire Prevention Handbook Bookmark and Share

Confident that your home and family are safe from fire? Do you take all necessary precautions to minimise the risks? Do you know how many smoke alarms you need, or where to put them? Are you happy that your electrical sockets aren't dangerously overloaded, or that you and others in your home would know what to do if you woke up at night in a smoke-filled room?

The new national fire safety campaign seeks to ensure that the public have all of the necessary information they need to significantly reduce the chances of fire in the home, and if they do suffer a fire, how best to deal with it. Central to the campaign is the 'Fire Prevention Handbook', which is a free, comprehensive guide to all areas of fire safety in the home. A checklist allows people to assess whether they really are as safe from fire as they might have imagined. The handbook provides in-depth information on how to minimise fire risks, how best to get a quick warning if one does start, and advice on how to plan what to do if faced with a real emergency. A further section helps you keep children safe from danger, and a contacts section at the back details a wide range of organisations who can provide further or specialist help.
